 Diet: Food Combining

PROPER FOODS – PROPERLY COMBINED

Dead Foods are foods that are devoid of life. Remember that only LIFE begets LIFE. Therefore, only LIFE can sustain LIFE. For a perfectly healthy body, TRY TO EAT ONLY LIVE FOODS.

Live Foods are foods that will spoil, rot, ferment, sour, mold, mildew; attract moths, weevils, bugs and worms; but which are eaten before these situations occur. If these microbes and creatures who cannot read, write, listen to radio, and are not attracted to the beautiful models on TV – if they will not touch or eat a product, it is DEAD – AVOID IT.

Only FRESH, raw foods are ALIVE and have ENZYMES. The fresher and healthier the food, the more the ENZYMES. Enzymes are killed by light, heat, moisture and oxygen. Many other things also kill enzymes such as cooking, pasteurizing, refining, fragmenting, processing and chemical additives; and yet, these enzymes are the “bridges” between your food and the ability of the body to assimilate best nutrition.

Heat above 116 degrees Fahrenheit starts killing enzymes.  The higher the heat, the more and the faster they are killed. Milk is pasteurized at around 140 degrees Fahrenheit so as a source of enzymes, it should be avoided. Insist on RAW milk or get GOAT’S milk – they are usually not pasteurized.*

To find out if the bread you are purchasing is of good quality – leave it in the bag in which it was purchased. Set it in a high, warm place. If in 7 days it molds THOROUGHLY on all slices (not just in spots), and if in 7 weeks, it has all turned to a fine green powder, it is a PERFECT FOOD. Avoid bread that will not mold completely through, but eat good bread before it molds.

                        ANTACID ANYONE

As we grow older many of us find we cannot as easily digest or “handle the vast assortment of conflicting foods that we once did”. Why? Because for too many years we have imposed on our wonderful digestive mechanism in many ways; one of these impositions may have consisted of requiring it to do two opposing operations at the same meal, namely:

1)      Digest proteins, which require a strong ACID medium and at the
    same time.

      2)      Digest concentrated carbohydrates, which require an ALKALINE
                medium.

The CARBOHYDRATES need the alkaline saliva of the mouth and the alkaline juices of the intestine to complete digestion. The PROTEINS activate the pepsin of the stomach needed to split the protein molecule, and bring forth the hydrochloric acid needed for complete protein digestion. Acids and alkalines when brought together can neutralize each other so that neither type of food is easily or thoroughly digested. Too frequently, this results in fermentation of the carbohydrates and undigested acid end products from the proteins. All this may tend to add toxins and thus, the body’s vitality is lowered. When one’s digestive system has been weakened, it should naturally be given every aid in self-recuperation.* Many so called “authorities” disagree with this proposition, but why theorize or enter into a “scientific” discussion. We believe that you can and should prove this nutritional wisdom to yourself.

If for 30 days you will rigidly avoid WRONG COMBINATIONS OF FOODS, YOU WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE AMAZED at the friendly, contented feeling in your stomach and at your feeling of renewed strength and well-being.
